BANG! Got your attention? The better question is if your website is getting your potential clients’ attention, or does it have just a ho-hum Web Banner Design when someone clicks it open. There is a stupendous amount of BLAH out there on the web. We don’t mean the good type of BLAH where your customers go BLAH-BLAH about how good your website, products and services are. We mean the run-of–the-mill, clicked it open, saw the page, gonna move on now BLAH. Print headlines have been around almost since the invention of the printing press. The purpose of a headline – and a banner – is to induce the reader to read the content of the newspaper, the magazine or the website. No BANG leads to BLAH. BLAH leads to no sales. FLASH, FLASH, FLASH makes sales happen (yes, we do Flash banners too!).
Your Web Banner Design should fall anywhere from slightly astounding to really astounding! Not being astounding is not being effective. We keep a whole passel of designs, colors, shapes and sizes of web banners in the back room. We got crates of the stuff! Some of it has never been seen by human eyes before. Imagine what might happen if we root around there and find something that just fits your website to a tee! Our only problem may be that your audience might become so enamored with your banner that they might forget to read the stuff below it. Particularly true for Flash banners – it’s just the nature of the beast. Probably not a really big concern but, we admit, we really do worry about the details.
